Kim assists clients in the areas of estate and incapacity planning, probate, and trust administration. She also assists clients with estate and trust litigation, and business and general transactional law, such as formation of LLCs and corporations, sales of businesses, and real estate sales and leases.
Kim joined Newman, Comley & Ruth as a law clerk in May 2014 and became an Associate at the firm in September 2015. She became a shareholder of the firm on January 1, 2022. Kim earned her law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in May 2015. During law school, Kim completed a judicial externship with the Honorable Zel M. Fischer of the Missouri Supreme Court. She held leadership positions in organizations including the Student Bar Association and the Women’s Law Association. She was the Managing Editor of the Missouri Law Review and had two case notes published in the Law Review. One of her publications won the award for Best Case Note in Spring 2015. Upon graduation from law school, Kim earned membership in the Order of the Coif by being in the top 10% of her class. She also graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Kim is a member of the Jefferson City Breakfast Rotary Club and acts as her club’s Youth Exchange Officer. She is also the President of the Cole County Bar Association, and previously acted as its Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer. Kim is the Secretary/Treasurer of the Mid-Missouri Women Lawyers’ Association. Kim has lived in Jefferson City since 2015 and spends her free time enjoying the unique restaurants, activities, and outdoor spaces the community has to offer. She enjoys running, spending time outside, playing golf, and cheering on the Missouri Tigers!
